TEACHER TOOLBOX SUCCESS
The first group of creche teachers in our Teacher Toolbox project received their certificates in April after concluding a series of six workshops. The teachers completed training modules, presented by Bonita Schulze, on the morning ring, art, story time & secondary ring, outside activities and nutrition.
A heartfelt thank you to Letaba Junction for sponsoring the venue and providing nourishing meals. Your support was pivotal in making this event a success.
Congratulations to the dedicated creche teachers who received their well-deserved certificates!
CHILD PROTECTION MONTH: PERSONAL BOUNDARIES AND EMOTIONS
May was Child Protection Month and it’s crucial to spotlight children’s rights. Our creche teachers recently completed a Protective Behaviours course, helping our little ones learn about personal boundaries and emotions. Using hula hoops, we created a circle of safety, giving children a clear visual of their own space and body awareness. They also learned to confidently say “no” when someone invades their personal bubble.
Soap bubbles were introduced to teach children about happiness and excitement, helping them differentiate between good and bad feelings. This crucial lesson empowers them to trust their instincts and speak up when they feel unsafe.
FROM BERLIN TO LIMPOPO: RACING FOR HOPE
Friend of the ClemenGold Foundation and ex-colleague, Annica Swart, is gearing up for her debut Ironman 70.3 triathlon in Berlin, Germany, set for 15 September 2024. Her journey isn’t just about personal achievement; she’s fundraising for the ClemenGold Foundation to support the construction of a creche in Limpopo, South Africa.
This initiative aims to provide essential early childhood development (ECD) facilities and teacher training to local creches, offering hope to a community in urgent need. Research underscores the profound impact of early childhood interventions, making every kilometer Annica covers in her rigorous training a step towards improving ECD access. Join Annica’s journey as she swims (1.9km), cycles (90kom), and runs (21.1km), transforming kilometers into opportunities for brighter futures in Limpopo.

IGNITE YOUTH CAMP TRANSFORMATION
Another successful Ignite Youth Camp was held in March in Hoedspruit. A group of 25 learners, who initially felt unsure of themselves, blossomed into confident individuals thanks to a supportive and trusting environment. Witnessing shy participants stepping up and others rallying around to help them overcome obstacles was truly inspiring.
This camp isn’t just about fun and activities! It’s about building resilience and community spirit in our young people. Join us in igniting positivity and growth in them!
Thank you to all involved for fostering such empowering experiences! Special thanks to our donors: ClemenGold International, Du Roi Trust, Fruitalyst (Pty) Ltd, Lieben Logistics and kind individuals.
SPOTLIGHT ON BENEDICT MASHILE
Meet Benedict Mashile, a facilitator at the Ignite Youth Camps in Hoedspruit. With a BSc in Computer Science, he balances his time between nurturing young minds and his professional responsibilities at Nedbank in Johannesburg. Benedict’s dedication to community service has been recognized with the Local Hero Award for 10 consecutive years, a testament to his profound influence in his hometown of Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga.
During the Foundation’s Ignite Youth Camps, mentors like Benedict empower groups to work towards a hopeful future. The true highlight for Benedict is witnessing the transformation in learners as they apply newfound skills to create positive change within families and communities.

PIT TOILETS GET FLUSHED
We are excited to announce a milestone for the ClemenGold Foundation and our ‘partner’ school, Vhulakanjhani Primary School in Nkambako Village, Limpopo. After many years of unsuccessful attempts to get rid of pit toilets, the school now has 24 new and 8 refurbished flush toilets!
This achievement was made possible by Breadline Africa, who, as part of their ‘Eradication of Pit Toilet’ project, secured funding and appointed ENVIROSAN SANITATION SOLUTIONS for the construction.
It’s all about making a difference, and this is a remarkable step towards a safer and more dignified environment for students and staff alike.
A massive thank you to everyone involved in making this project a reality! Your commitment to improving lives is inspiring. We look forward to many more successful collaborations to come.
